Since I began playing baseball when I was 8 years old, there has been a thought in my head to keep playing at the next level. That thought turned into a dream when I was around 13 years old when I found out my dream was to play baseball at the highest level I could achieve. For the past 2 years, I feel like I have been consistently working hard to make improvements in my game. While in the process of practicing and trying to get better, I feel like I have learned a lot about the sport of baseball; as a common saying goes, "the best lessons in life are self-taught", I feel like it is very true because I feel like I have made the most progress in my game through the trial and error of experimenting with my own mechanics. As the use of the phrase 'hard work' has become a cliche, I would describe myself as a "go-getter"; if I want something, I'm going to go out and obtain it regardless of what it takes to get done.
I consider myself to be a good student in the classroom having a cumulative weighted GPA of 4.73 and my class rank being 10/146 this past academic year. I'm 6ft, 200 lbs. and some of my most recent statistics are a 6.97 60-yard dash, 85 MPH exit velocity, and 2.07 Pop time. I always try to lead by example on the field when it comes to attitude and effort; as well as staying vocal to avoid miscommunication on the field or keeping the energy up in the dugout. I wouldn't mind staying in state, but I'd prefer to go to warmer locations in the Southeast or Southwest region knowing from experience how tough it is to play in the cold. I'm open to many types of schools and willing to keep an open mind to many programs I may not see myself with right now.
My ideal plan would be to go somewhere I can major in Business, have opportunities to gain more playing time, and continue to make improvements in my game. I want to become the best ballplayer I can become and I am leaving my mind open to most JUCOs, NAIA, Division II & III schools with my desired major.
