Max Simpson '21 Recruiting Profile

I live in the country outside the small town of Red Bud in southern Illinois. I am the second of five children. Growing up, my whole family was involved in sports. My siblings and I all played and my parents coached our teams. Throughout my life, I have played a variety of sports including basketball, football, soccer, and of course baseball. Although I filled in on several teams throughout my years, my primary select team was Young Guns from 9U-14U. This team had excellent team chemistry as a result of positive attitudes, supportive team members, and great sportsmanship. I like to have fun with my teammates, but I understand their is a time and place for fun versus focus. I have learned a lot about life and baseball from my teammates and coaches. I have developed life long relationships with former players, opponents, and coaches. I strive to find a similar environment in which to play college baseball.  I work hard on the field and in the classroom. While success in the classroom has always been important to me, I have chosen to take advanced classes for personal growth as opposed to classes that would have provided an easy A. This demonstrates my desire to work hard and ability to focus on the big picture and long term success. In college, I want to play ball at the highest level possible, while still being able study nursing and prepare for my future.
