Personal Statement

My goal is to play baseball at the college level and beyond.  I am very confident of my abilities and am looking for a Program with coaches who will help me on my journey to the next level.

I had Tommy John surgery in July of 2022.  That caused me to miss most of the 2022 summer season, and my 2023 high school season.  My recovery from Tommy John surgery is over and now I'm playing baseball. I had to take a lot of time off and completely rehab my throwing arm. That included strengthening the muscles surrounding my elbow, rebuilding my shoulder, and practicing mobility exercises to increase my range of motion. Every day was grueling, but I knew it would with be worth it in the end. Now that I'm back on the field, I feel great. I'm having a blast working on my mechanics and getting back to where I was before.

I am so thankful for all the support I got from family, friends, coaches, and trainers during my recovery process. It's impossible to do something like this without them; they really kept me motivated and helped push me towards success. Knowing that someone has your back makes the journey so much easier.

Now that I'm back to playing, it's important that I keep up with my strength and mobility exercises. It's not enough to just show up to practice and throw; I must stay ahead of any potential injuries by taking care of my body. That means stretching regularly, doing agility drills, and working on improving my mechanics. I'm determined to have a successful season and stay healthy!

I can't wait for what's next in my baseball career. I've committed to play for Quincy University, one of the top 10 DII programs in the country.

No matter what happens in life, baseball has always been there for me. It's a part of who I am and I'm so grateful for that. As long as I keep working hard and never give up on myself, anything is possible! That's why I'm so excited to continue my journey and see what the next phase of my baseball career will bring. Here's to a summer travel season full of growth, success, and maybe even some wins!

  • OF Alexander Clark (New Trier, 2024) was one of the top performers from this event. A left-handed hitter, Clark showed quick, loose hands and he peppered balls gap-to-gap throughout his round of BP. He worked on the barrel throughout and posted one of the highest exit velocities (92.2 mph) of the day. Aside from his efforts at the plate, Clark roamed around the outfield with comfort as well. Still on the market, Clark came away from this event as a follow uncommitted left-handed bat in the state’s 2024 class.

  • Alexander Clark, OF, 2024, New Trier (IL) Uncommitted. Lanky, high-waisted frame at 5-foot-11 160lbs with more room to add. At the plate, stands balanced and upright. Strides slightly in towards the pitcher before uncorking his sneaky strong and powerful lower half, with a quick and short stroke thru the zone. Allows his natural athleticism to take over as he separates creating whip action with the barrel. Will be one to keep an eye on as he continues to physically mature and add further strength.

  • Alexander is an athletic OF/LHP who has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls and plays with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate with online carry (88 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. With 2 years to further develop, Alexander has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.
