My name is Josh Neely. I'm a hard working, detail-oriented individual who strives for perfection in every aspect of my life. I take my commitments seriously and believe in giving 110% at all times. Most of what I know about baseball is self-taught. I've observed the experts, listened to my coaches; and, if I still have questions, I will dig deep until I find the answer and then practice until I get it right. I would describe my leadership style as a "leader by example". I'm the first out on the field and the last to leave. I'm willing to make sacrifices to reach my goals. I'm very competative and welcome constructive criticism to use to my advantage to make myself a better baseball player. Being from a small school in a competitive conference, I've learned to win with humility and lose gracefully.
Playing college and major league baseball is a goal I've had my entire life. I'm willing to do what it takes, and believe that I will be an asset to any college team on and off the field. My best contribution is my dedication and loyalty to the sport. My best skill my defense. Winning the Gold Glove award my sophmore year, I've proven myself on the field. I have soft hands, an accurate throw, and good feet. Offensively, I am a line drive hitter and get on base often. I'm a smart baserunner and have decent speed on the bases.
My goal is to attend a college/university that can enhance all aspects of my life. I'm looking for a school that can offer me opportunity. The opportunity to better myself academically and physically. Academically, I'm interesting in pursuing an engineering degree specializing in science. Physically, I want to be challenged and become the best baseball player I can be. I'm open to all types of schools and look forward to speaking to each of you.
