Personal Statement

My name is Tobie Teke. I am a Senior at South Dearborn HS in Aurora, IN. I have been playing baseball since I was 5, however my love for the game started to grow more deeply when I turned 12 up to the point where I wanted to start thinking about playing at the next level. I am already enrolled in honors and advanced classes and will be taking dual credit courses over the next 2 years of high school.

I also play basketball so I have to work at my time management so that I can keep my academics where they need to be. Both my mother and father have college degrees and my mom teaches in South Dearborns school system so I have the backing to help me prioritize.

I was the South Dearborn male representative in 8th grade for the 6th congressional honors award which takes into account academic and community service. As Part of my community service I am a referee for A.I.M basketball at my church as well as a member of youth ambassadors through the Dearborn county citizens against substance abuse. This program is not affiliated through the school and is a volunteer program in the community. I am also a STARS mentor for the incoming freshman class helping them with adjusting to high school, showing them around the school and helping ease into the year.

My goals in college are to study business/sport management.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
