Hello, my name is Dominic DeFeo, I’m a 16-year-old junior at Kennebunk High School, class of 2021 (for reference, Kennebunk, Maine is about 90 minutes north of Boston, MA.) I am actively and excitedly seeking colleges where I can continue to grow as a scholar-athlete; pursuing a degree in math and science, while following my passion for baseball. I am confident that with hard work I will find a college where I can make a positive contribution to the culture, academics and athletics and my confidence in this process is likely due to my unique experience of growing up as the youngest child in an extended family of seven siblings. Having so many siblings has made it possible for me to observe and often participate in a wide variety of life experiences, from recently helping my sister to choose the right college; visiting campuses, discussing all the important details that go into these personal decisions, to watching my oldest sister play for and coach at the Division I level. I’ve also been able to learn about making graduate school and career decisions as my siblings include an engineer, a doctor and an entrepreneur to name a few, all of which has given me a lot to consider for my future career. Having such a large immediate family and being the youngest, I understand the value of working together and caring for one another, as a son, a brother and even an uncle. This compassion and consideration for each other has served to make me a conscious teammate on and off the field, something I highly value, especially in baseball where the mental aspect of the game is often underestimated. I look forward to continuing to grow as a person, a student, and an athlete. I would like to thank you for reading my personal statement and welcome any questions you may have. Please feel free to contact me if you think I may be a fit for your school and baseball program.
