Throughout my life baseball has always played a major part in my development as a student in school and as a person. I started playing baseball at the age of 4 and would play catch with my older brother as often as possible. Baseball to me was just a game at first, but when I started more fully to understand the sport it became more than a game. As my understanding of the game grew so did my love for it. I started to play whenever I could and begged my dad or brother just to throw the ball around with me at any opportunity. I was always ready to play and whenever a challenge within the game arose or my team lost a tough game I was always willing to step up and encourage my team and help them through the rough games or experiences. Similarly, in school whenever I would be working on an assignment that was difficult I would always push and try to find a way to solve the problem and to help others understand it too.
Through baseball I learned a lot about how to be patient and that success will come to those who pour their heart and soul into the game. Baseball showed me that not all good things just fall into your lap and that you have to work for success. In games where I would go 0-4 I would know that one bad game would not end my entire career and that as long as I remained focused on improving my game I would have a better performance the next time. Baseball has also helped me to really show who I am by showing me that by expressing yourself you will feel better and ultimately be more confident in your abilities. I love to be seen for my effort and my skill and would love to bring that work ethic and moral strength to your program!
