I believe that I am a good candidate, because I am a hard worker and would help bring leadership to a team.  I participated in a Captains Clinic at my high school to learn all the skills and traits of being a good captain and team leader.  I don't just work hard on the field but also in the classroom.  I have been recognized for both athletic and academic awards throughout high school.  Outside of practicing with my team, I work with a private pitching instructor, as well as a trainer for strength and conditioning, to further develop my skills as a pitcher.  I am able to fit these activities into my schedule while staying focused on my school work.  I believe that I possess the qualities, both mental and physical, to make a positive impact on a college baseball team, as well as excel academically.
