My goals for a college experience is to position myself to have the best academic and college sports experience that's right for me. I am an honors scholar-athlete who is not only passionate about baseball but also engineering and the computer sciences. I approach my schoolwork and athletics by giving 110% in everything I do. I've played baseball since I was 4 years old. I remember wanting to play as early as 3, but had to wait until I was old enough for T-ball. Each year I grew physically, learned more about the mechanics of the game, and improved myself as a player. I've always been a determined player with coaches telling me I was more mature than my age. I push my teammates around me with the hope they will do the same for me. I value the experiences I've had with my coaches and their staff. I've been blessed to learn alot from them realizing they have played the game and how they put team's best interest in mind. I trust my coaches and the process it takes to build a successful and winning team. What I've realized about the game of baseball is failure will happen, but how I handle failure and use it to improve myself and my team is key.
Academics are a priority for me. I've maintained a 3.2 gpa through my freshman and sophomore years and I’ve set a goal for my GPA to definitely be higher by the time I graduate. I attend DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland, which is in one of, if not the best, conferences in the U.S. (WCAC). What I've learned at DeMatha, besides having an excellent college prep and sports program, is the strong brotherhood we have with one another to help each other and to be brothers for life. With the DeMatha community sharing the same goal and vision of obtaining excellence, we know the sky's the limit. I look forward to enrolling in a college or university that has the same values and has students, who share my goals for life. At DeMatha, I am also active in activities off of the baseball field such as the DeMatha Leadership Institute (nominated by one of my teachers) and the Symphonic Band where I am first chair alto saxophone. I am also an active member of my Church's youth group. As I prepare to make a decision regarding the college I will attend that will meet my academic goals as well as my athletic desires, I hope you will reach out to me for further discussions. Thank You.
