Playing sports has taught me how to be a coachable, respectful, team-oriented, resilient competitor. For me, baseball is the ultimate mental and physical challenge against myself because I am learning how to love the process of getting better every time I train, practice, or play. Figuring out what I need to do to help my team get better to win. I’ve always focused on studying the game, the statistics, and situations; building my baseball I.Q. My goal always is to play with confidence, courage, and composure.
When my mom had breast cancer, I leaned on family, friends, teammates, and teachers. From that I have learned the value of maintaining a positive attitude, being an encouraging teammate, and to compete with everything you have, never giving up on yourself.
Academically I've maintained a 3.82 career GPA (4.0 in freshmen year) in the Honors curriculum. Completed my AP Mandarin (Chinese) and AP World History exams . Earned Gentleman Scholar awards for two years and the highest Grade in AP Mandarin award. Played basketball my freshman year. I also traveled to China with my school and stayed with a host family by myself for a week.
In my spare time my friends and I have continued to run our book club for the sixth year. We’ve read 56 books. Sometimes we do a podcast. I also help coach little league teams.
I am looking for a school that can help me financially while allowing me to have the opportunity to get a great education, and fulfill my dream of playing college level baseball. I’m interested in studying sports journalism/media, finance, and Mandarin.
I would love to play for a baseball program where I can continue to develop and contribute to the program's success. Learn lessons and habits that help me in my baseball career and beyond. I look forward to speaking with you all. Thank you for your interest.
