My name is Connor Mann and I am currently 17 years old and a junior attending Hereford High School in Parkton, Maryland. I am 5'8 1/2" tall and my weight is 165lbs. I have been playing baseball from a very young age. I am currently the starting third baseman for my varsity team as well as a right handed pitcher . I have also been a key utility player for my high school and club teams. I am the starting third baseman for my club team last year, The Baseball Warehouse. When I am not playing baseball in the Spring, Summer and Fall, I play for the varsity high school golf team. In the off season, I participate in weight training programs both during and after school and strength and conditioning workouts through Medstar, Baseball Warehouse on my own. To me, baseball is not about one person, there are 9 players on the field and each player is just as important as the other. YOU would be nothing without your teammates.
I have a strong work ethic both on and off the field. I have been taking SAT and ACT exercises and have taken SAT prep this year. I am planning on taking the SAT and ACT tests Spring 2018. My goal is to attend a large college along the east coast within a reasonable distance from my family. However, I am open to all possibilities. I have not yet decided on a degree path however I have an interest in exploring environmental and agricultural related sciences.
I would be a strong asset to the team due to the fact that I am a leader and a hard worker. I will give 110% on the field and in the classroom. I see myself as a leader because on the field I am constantly communicating with and encouraging my teammates. I take charge by pushing my teammates to get full physical and mental ability out of them. Also, I see myself as a leader in the classroom and club activities. If a classmate is struggling, I don't hesitate to help them to the best of my ability. I have also taken a leadership position in the FAA club and plan on taking the Vice President position in the Christen Athletes club in my senior year. I believe that I have the talent, work ethic and leadership ability to preform at the college level and can only ask for you to believe in me and my abilities. What matters to me is that I am playing the sport I love, to my highest physical ability.
