Matthew Wilson '21 Recruiting Profile

I've been playing baseball since the age of 5 and from that time it has always been my goal to play baseball at the college level. I am currently a Junior at Bellingham High School where we play Division III in the Tri-Valley League.  I have played football along with baseball in high school but I am choosing to pursue baseball as it is the sport that I am most passionate about.

Through my Junior year I currently have a 3.1 GPA and am looking to improve it, I take 2 honors classes, (English & History) I also try and help out in the community with younger kids and baseball camps.  I try and have a fun outlook and personality when playing the game as I enjoy playing it.  I believe that I am a selfless player and care about the name on the front of the jersey more than the name on the back.  I've always been a team first type of guy that tries to get along with everyone. I have also made it very important to myself throughout my whole career that I am very coachable and good at listening to others teach the game.   

I made the Varsity Baseball team as a Freshman and was able to crack the starting lineup throughout the first 2 years, I was able to start in tournament playoff games in back to back years.  In 2017 I was part of a team that won the AAU Super Division Northeast Regional. In the past 2 years I have played on an AAU Showcase Travel team which plays in regional tournaments during the summer.  

I would love to get the opportunity to get my business degree while also getting to grow as a player at the college level.
