Griffin Ruffner '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Griffin Ruffner and I live in Exeter, New Hampshire. Though I may be from New Hampshire, I attend St. John's Prep located in Danvers, Massachusetts. I am an experienced baseball player looking to continue my career throughout college while also attending a school that offers a great education. My decision to go to St. John's has changed my life greatly. The ultimate combination of athletics and academics made the decision easy for me. I have met all kinds of people and started relationships that will last a lifetime. Over the past two years, I have served time on the school football, basketball, and baseball teams. As much as I like football and basketball, I have chosen not to play those sports this season as I want to focus all my time and energy into becoming an overall better baseball player. My goal of playing college baseball isn't going to be handed to me. I know I have to put in work and continue to develop my game. My work ethic and motivation only increases with time. As a catcher, I am the leader on the field and the one that has to control the game. I can also play a variety of positions in the outfield and infield. I put the team first and am willing to do whatever it takes. I believe I can compete at the collegiate level while also pursuing my academics.
