Matthew Walsh '22 Recruiting Profile

I have been in love with baseball ever since my father introduced me to the sport. Baseball has been everything for me every single day of my life. I played varsity baseball as an 8th grader which has given me lots of experience at a high level. Fighting for a starting spot made me realize that not everything will be given to me in sports, or in school. 

My goal in collegiate baseball is earning a starting position on my team. I want to develop my skills further and hopefully be noticed by Major league scouts. In school, I'm hoping to find something I enjoy doing and major in that. I will work hard to be at the top of my class and earn my degree, but also be the best on my team. I am a good candidate on any team because of my work ethic and the fact that I never give up even when the odds are stacked against me. Compared to most other people, I am more concerned about my goals and my future than being popular or having people like me. I put 100% effort into everything I do, and try to make everyone around me better.
