Ever since I can remember I was playing catch with my Dad in my backyard. I played many sports as a kid, but baseball always stood out as my favorite and the one I was most talented at. My first little league home run remains one of my fondest childhood memories. When I started playing shortstop on the Varsity baseball team as a Freshman, I looked up to and was mentored by the seniors who made up the majority of the team. Throughout my baseball career, I have been exposed to many leaders, captains and coaches, all who possess different styles and methods - both positive and negative. These experiences not only helped me distinguish between a good and a bad leader but inspired me to be a strong leader who understands, encourages and motivates my teammates. If someone strikes out or makes an error, I’m always the first person to pick them up. This helped me get elected as a captain my Junior year.
I play baseball year-round and have always carried a rigorous course load while achieving honor roll. I have learned to manage my time efficiently, work hard, commit and achieve my goals, and compete 110% every single day. I am seeking a challenging academic program where I can excel on and off the field. I believe I have the ambition and bring the skills that are needed to be a strong collegiate athlete and teammate in your program.
