My name is Aidan Daugherty. I am a 12th grader at Southwick Regional High School in Southwick, MA. I have been playing ball since age 5 and travel since age 8. I was the starting short stop for JV during my freshman year. I was starting 2nd basemen and then moved to short stop during my sophomore year on varsity. During our varsity season, I was the only underclassman infield starter. I hit a walk off against a team that was ranked #1 in our division. This upcoming year, I was named the only captain for my varsity team. I have always been the starting short stop in travel ball During my summer 2023 season I batted .525. I rarely strike out and I’m a patient swinger. I like to run up the count when possible.
I go into every game with the mindset that my team is going to win. As a leader, I encourage my teammates to stay positive, stay focused, work hard, and adjust to every scenario. While I am confident in my game, I am also humble. I love this sport and I appreciate every coach that taught me to love it and play my version of the game along the way. Every single one contributed to my game and mindset to play and has given great insight into what I love most, baseball.
For my future, I am interested in going into business but I also don’t see my life without this sport. I will always strive to do better each game.
