Personal Statement

I have always been considered a "utility player" and a leader on the field because of my versatility and ability to effectively produce (offensively and defensively) in pressure situations.  My primary positions are catcher, 3rd base and 2nd base.  Last season,  as a sophomore on my high school baseball team, I batted .360 and led my team in RBIs.  Defensively, I led our team in fielding percentage while playing multiple positions.  This season,  as a junior, I was the starting catcher for our varsity team.  I threw out 12 runners in our first 17 games, and I batted .333 with 23 RBIs.  This summer, I played for the 19U Chief Pontiac American Legion Baseball Club, and batted .394 on the season, with a .442 on-base percentage and .634 slugging percentage.  I threw out 11 runners in the 17 games I caught, and was the DH for the other 9 games we played this season.  I feel my leadership position on the baseball field, how I handle myself on and off the field, and my strong academic performance in the classroom is the reason I've become a respected teammate, and someone any of the guys can depend on.  I am interested in playing baseball and studying mechanical engineering or pre-med in college.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
