I have grown up in a christian home going to church on Sundays and saying my prayers before each meal. That's the way I was raised but that's not the only thing my family has taught me. They taught me to be respectful to all adults, to be grateful, to try my hardest in everything I do, to be humble in my accomplishments and to learn from my mistakes, and most of all to lead not only on the sports field or in the classroom but in my everyday life.
I can remember my first baseball game and the feeling I got, stepping on that field made me feel like I could pursue my dream of going pro. Once I was old enough to play traveling baseball the coach asked me if I would want to play and I said yes of course thinking its a start to going pro. Well our first game I started as DH batting nine in the order, but in the second inning they put me in as catcher and I instantly fell in love with the position yelling the number of outs like I have been playing for years. Since that day I have always been the catcher in every league I have played in.
Since the start of middle school I have thought about becoming a biochemist and what I need to do to achieve that goal. I realized that I wanted to go to a really good collage and that to do that I need really good grades, so I set my self the goal of graduating high school with a GPA no lower then 3.8 and have at least one year as team captain of the baseball team.
Some things that I believe set me apart from other students and athletes is that i'm a leader. It comes natural to me I feel the need to keep the team in the game, and the need to lead in my every day life. On my past teams we never really picked a captain but my team always looked at me as one and I respect them highly for that. I believe that every team needs a leader and I also believe i'm the leader my team is going to want. A couple more qualities I have grown to learn are that a great work ethic and and a strong character will get you a lot farther in life then a kid who doesn't care and brags allot. These are the qualities I believe set me apart from other athletes and students. That's why I think i'm the leader you want on your team.
