Hello- My name is Sam Kelm; I am a senior and attend Benilde-St. Margaret's School in St. Louis Park, MN. I was born on January 10, 2004, in Minneapolis, MN. I am currently 6'1" and 185 LBS. I am a right-handed hitter and right-handed thrower. My primary position is 3rd base and my secondary position is pitcher, although I also play short stop and center field. I am passionate about baseball and well known as a team player. Where the team has a need, I have always accepted the coaches call, even playing catcher for 2 years as the team had need in that position. Academically, I have a 3.5 cumulative grade point average. My goal is to play college baseball and earn a business degree.
10/25/2020 - Baseball Factory Official College Scouting Report - Stillwater (Minneapolis), MN Samuel is a tall, athletic RHP who will graduate in 2022. On the mound, he works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and fires from a clean/loose arm action. He gets strong glove-side lead and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 72-74 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball shows 10/4 shape with across break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with cutting action. Slider is harder with tight spin and short break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine, through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 2 years to further develop, Samuel has potential with time and room to progress his game.
