I can't remember a time in my life where playing collegiate hockey wasn't on my mind. I remember writing in my 4th grade journal and two of my goals were "captain of my high school team" and "play D1 hockey". Playing college hockey is something that motivates me to be a better not only ice hockey player but a better person. Hockey isn't just a sport to me, it's something that has helped me through life. Hockey to me has sulpted me to be the person I am today and that is one of the main reasons why I want to contiune playing at a competitive level in college.
Something of the things that really define me as a person is my drive, determination and work ethic. I always want to be the best and when i'm not that motivates me to be better. I'm a loud and happy person, I like to hype the team up. I try to lead the team with my work ethic but, also with my voice and attitude. I'm a strong believer in "do it for the girl next to you" mentality. Being a leader is really important to me, also having a strong on ice presence.
I am going to be a freshman in high school and I attend Benilde- St. Margret's Catholic Prepatory School. This will be my 3rd year going there and my 2nd year playing hockey for BSM. Last season as an 8th grader I was on the Varsity team and lettered. I started about 4 games and had an inchanging line as a left winger. I was one of two girls that made it as an 8th grader. As I seventh grader I played association hockey. I had over 70 points and scored about 50 goals at the U12A level. At Benilde, I not only played hockey but, I also play softball and volleyball. As a 7th grader I lettered for softball and I was only the 4th seventh grader to letter in program history. Last season we made it to state and won our conference. I spend my summer not only training for hockey but, also playing competitive club softball.
Besides sports a couple things that are really important to me are my grades and family. School is something that I value greatly. I like to use hockey and softball to motivate me to be a better student and keep up my good grades. Going into higschool this year I think it is really important from the moment I set foot in a classroom to be ready to work hard. College isn't just for hockey I want to further my education on from highschool. Looking into career paths something that really interests me is sports medicne and orthopedic surgery. I love sports so much and it has given me so much so I want to give back to my community and do something with athletes. Another thing that is very import to me is family. If it weren't for my amazing parents I wouldn't be where I am today. On and off the ice I think it is important to represent your team and family with honor and pride. I go to a Luthern Church every Wednesday and go to Bible study. I am working towards getting confirmed my Freshman year. Faith is another thing that is important to me.
