I am a highschool student who is currently going to trade school for industrial welding, but have also had thoughts about playing college baseball. I have played baseball since the age of 5, and have completely fell in love with the sport. Growing up, I did not get to play travel ball, as I grew up as a farm kid, which meant I typically had to work twice as hard for my spots. I played recreational for 7 years, and have 2 years of varsity baseball, soon to be 3 years under my belt. My freshman year I pinch ran for the most part, as I was one of the faster dudes on the team. I had a senior starting in my position of centerfield, and I essentially played right behind him and he mentored me. Transitioning into sophomore year, everything was looking more promising, I was getting plenty of reps in and always stayed after practice to work on batting or do an outfielding workout. Sadly, sophomore year was cut short due to COVID-19. I spent a lot of the summer of 2020 in the cages working on my swing, my coaches have always told me I can swing a bat good, but now I have gained a lot more confidence when I step up to the plate. In my freshman year, I started the JV squad, and got to play varsity, I did not drop a single ball in the outfield. Junior year will definitely be a good one, as I have lots of confidence in myself. I also play basketball to keep myself active and be prepared for baseball to start. I have done workout after workout from pro's and plenty of influencers in the game. Growing up in Missouri, I have always been a KC Royals fan, and have always been amazing watching Lorenzo Cain play. I started doing some of his outfielder workouts and that improved my game jurasically. Growing up in a rural community, a lot of people know each other. I strive to help my neighbors and my friends, as I feel it is my mission to make my community a better place for future generations to grow up and live in. I have a strong work ethic and I am always willing to give a helping hand, which that goes back into the fact I grew up as a farm kid... so I know what its like to work hard for nice things. I work my butt off every moment I get to become a better athlete and a better person, and I would love to develop into an even better team leader with an opportunity at college level baseball.
