I've been interested in sports for as long as I can remember. My Dad had me hitting off of a tee at 2 years old and practicing form tackles by the age of 4. The challenge, competition and brotherhood found in sports is what kept me interested as I grew older and eventually made it a major part of my life. Through Baseball I have found the meaning of hard work, dedication and never giving up. Those values have helped me shape my own core beliefs such as family always comes first and that you should treat others as you expect to be treated.
Through playing sports, I have learned that overcoming challenges is a great feeling of accomplishment. The feeling of working hard for something and having to experience failure before success makes victory that much sweeter. This is also something that carries over into the classroom. School is a big priority and learning how to balance athletics and academics is a challenge in itself. Academically I have goals to study business as I would like to have my own company one day. It's important to me to connect with professors that can help guide me and enrich my learning experience to set me up for success.
Ideally I would like to attend a college that has a solid academic reputation that I can trust will have my best interest at heart. The things my coaches, teachers and close friends have said make me unique are my work habits, drive to succeed and coachability. I am not a close minded person and enjoy learning from others, especially if it helps my team out. I believe if you put in the work you'll get back what you put in and then some, I create my own luck. I don't rely on luck to find me.
