I would like to be both a successful athlete and responsible student in college. I began playing club volleyball in fourth grade, and began to fall in love with the sport right away. I initially wanted to play volleyball because it seemed like a competitive and fast paced game to play while also having lots of fun. I learned when I began playing club volleyball, it was all that but even more came out of playing volleyball. Throughout my years of playing volleyball I really realized who I am as a person and athlete. In fact, I found out I wasn't a follower but rather a leader on my teams. I learned I was not afraid to jump ahead in the drills and go first or stop a drill and bring the team together to figure out what is going wrong so we can fix it as a team. In games I continue to possess the same traits of leadership, whether that is encouraging others or just bringing the team together so we can work as one on the court. I also have academic goals for high school and college that I would like to achieve. In middle school I was on honor roll all three years and I would like to continue that throughout high school and in college. My current primary interest are in the study of architecture or sports science and kinesiology and I hope to earn a degree in one of them.
