Ever since I can remember, I’ve been playing baseball. My very first word was even “ball.” I started playing tee ball at age four, but I was playing in the backyard with my dad even before that.
One event that was a big influence for me was when I switched youth teams. This transition gave me more opportunities to get better. As a result, I became more confident in myself, which, in turn, improved my game.
Throughout my career I’ve been overlooked many times. I used that as motivation to gain weight, work harder, and continue to grow my game so I could prove doubters wrong. I’ve earned every bit of success that has come my way. Baseball has taught me many things about myself. My ability to focus on the mound has given me advantages in competition. I have also realized that I love to compete. I have always been very competitive; I hate losing even more than I love winning.
In my free time, I like to play basketball, watch movies, and play the piano. I’ve been playing piano since I was in third grade and have gotten pretty good over the years. My family and I also love to watch movies together, especially Star Wars. I’ve played basketball just as long as I’ve played baseball. I have actually lettered the past couple of years for my high-school team.
Baseball has always been a large part of my life. I hope to continue my journey in a collegiate program. If given the opportunity, I will continue to try my best academically and athletically.
