Hello!
My name is Alex Jones (2024) and I’m entering my Junior year at Platteview Highschool 2022 – 2023. For the past two years, I’ve been a catcher and starter for PHS Reserves, Juniors and elevated to the Varsity squad this past spring. During the past two summers, I’ve also played for Post 143 American Legion, and became the starting catcher for the Seniors/Varsity team! I was quickly identified as a catcher that consistently blocks, has good footwork, and a threat to baserunners with a consistent pop time averaging 2.15 or lower (06.2022 Council Bluffs, IA PBR Showcase). I’m quick on my feet (7.10 60-yard / 06.2022 Council Bluffs, IA PBR Showcase) and an effective baserunner after generating consistent at bats, evidenced in Game Changer (Spring 2022 HS: Avg .471, OBP .561, SLG .676).
I have a strong work ethic, devoting myself in the offseason towards strength conditioning and increased mobility with private instructor Joe Servais at Sports Performance – Omaha, and refining my catching skills under private instruction with former MLB Catcher Tyler Goodro at Goodro Catching Academy - Omaha. You’ll find my highlight reel/videos showcase my enthusiasm for the game and being a great teammate.
My academic and potential career interests include exploring and understanding Wildlife Management (Game Warden / Conservation Officer), Physical Education (Teaching / Coaching) and business management. My goal is to play college baseball and be apart of a team that places a premium on teamwork, has great team dynamics, have a winning mindset and a coach who values leadership and who can be positive role model in my life.
Thank you in advance for reviewing my profile!
