I always aspired to play in the major leagues. My mom says I was born a baseball player. I played in the pamper league as a toddler and continued playing. Baseball is second nature to me. I look forward to being part of an institution that not only wants to produce top athletes, but who also look to provide the proper academic guidance. I love sports and my Mother has been in the field of medicine forever. Therefore studying Sports Medicine is what I will do.
I pride myself on my integrity and ethic, instilled in me by my Mother. I was taught at an early age to always communicate my thoughts and feelings. Following this has allowed me, to always stand up for my beliefs, respect everyone, and to pursue my dreams. Training in Marine JROTC for the passed three years has allowed me to develop true leadership skills. I was taught that in order to be a good leader you must be a good follower. Due to this practice, I earned and qualified for the position of Platoon Commander this year.
As an athlete this has taught me to take care of my body and health, to always be a team player, and to constantly remain humble. This is turn is identified in how I play, how I participate in the care of the field and the respect always shown to my coaches and team mates.
I will admit that I have allowed sports at times to supersede my academics. This quickly changes with the help of my mother and sisters, who have always not only expressed, but have shown me the importance of my education. I make sure to study, to ask questions when I do not understand and to take the initiative to help others.
