My name is Will McCarthy and I am a 6’3 2025 RHP currently playing for Middletown South High School and Monmouth Liberty. My unique academic background and ability to successfully compete on one the most competitive high school baseball programs in New Jersey makes me a great candidate for colleges. My goal is to be a top contributor to a college baseball program both on and off the field.
I attend the Marine Academy of Science and Technology (MAST) in Sandy Hook, NJ. MAST is a specialized school that requires a high score on its entrance test to be admitted and only takes 70 kids a year. In addition, students at MAST are required to participate in the Naval Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (NJROTC). The ROTC program requires that I wear a uniform several days a week, as well as participate in military drills. Since MAST does not have sports teams, I play baseball for my local high school, Middletown South High School, located in Middletown, NJ.
Mental toughness and a great baseball IQ allow me to help teams win big games with me on the mound. I have an 85+ MPH fastball and this summer season I had a 1.36 ERA and 47 strikeouts in the 8 games I pitched.
