I have been playing baseball and football from the age of six. Even though I love playing football, I want to continue playing baseball at a high level as long as I can. All through my baseball career I have played many different positions but mainly focusing on being a catcher. However, in my freshman season of High School I took a chance and switched to pitcher where I realized I could have a future more on the mound than behind the plate. From here, I have been working hard to develop my mechanics and arm strength. This hard work paid off as one of my highlights of my sophomore year was when my coach called on me to get a two out save against an arch rival team and one of the best teams in the county and I was able to deliver the win for my team. With COVID-19, I have lost my Junior season but to stay in shape I built a pitching mound in the backyard with my dad. This way I could throw bullpens to keep in shape and stay ready.
On days I do not pitch, I play right field or first base and have a lefty stick in the lineup. I value being able to contribute to the team’s success in any way possible.
Off the field, I challenge myself academically by taking a full course load in High School including honors / AP classes. I believe this will prepare me for college as I want to major in civil or chemical engineering, and or physical therapy/sports med. I also challenge myself outside of school. As a cub scout, I set a goal to become an Eagle Scout. This January, I accomplished this goal by obtaining scout rank of Eagle Scout as well as obtaining two Eagle Palms – at age 16 and one of the youngest in my troop to achieve this rank. When not in school or on the field, I volunteer at the local RISE food pantry in town serving meals to less fortunate members of my town or I am at my part time job at the local deli.
I am looking for a University that I will be able to play competitive baseball, advance my education and get a degree in Engineering, and facilitate my aspirations of playing pro-ball.
