Layne Peterson '22 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'9" swimmer from Hightstown, NJ and will graduate in the 2022 class. I have 11 years club swimming experience on the Peddie Aquatics team, as well as two years as a swimmer for the Hightstown High School swim team. I broke the Peddie School 200 backstroke pool record with a time of 2:01.59 in November 2019, I broke the Mercer County 100 backstroke record in January of 2019, as well as finished 4th at the Meet of Champions NJ State meet in 2019 in the 100 backstroke and made the 3rd Team All-State list for New Jersey as a freshman.

I am looking for an institution where I can find the right balance between the classroom and swimming. I would like to pursue a  university with an outstanding academic reputation, as well as swimming program. Ideally, my athletic environment would be one where I could make an immediate impact on the team. I believe my best fit would be at the D1 level, although I will absolutely consider all opportunities presented to me.
