Matt Fernandez '22 Recruiting Profile

I have always been a baseball player. Since my early playing days, I envisioned college ball as an important step in my baseball life. Being able to complete at that next level and to carry my commitment into young adulthood would be incredible. To have the opportunity to be a part of an established and successful college program would offer validation to me as a player. 

Many of the character strengths I bring to baseball also help me be a successful student. I find that my dedication, curiosity and love of learning, persistence, hope, and integrity serve me well on the baseball field and in the classroom. I also believe that a sense of humor is vital to all parts of life.

Academically, I plan to participate fully in a physical therapy program that will offer me classroom and hands-on internship opportunities to prepare me to move on to a graduate level program. In regards to baseball, during my 4 years at college I hope to be a part of a program that will allow me to continue to improve my game while learning from expert coaches and talented teammates. I aim to build lasting friendships with my teammates that will continue throughout my adult life.
