As a child and now young adult, I’ve always had to be more diligent with a larger work ethic than my peers. Growing up afflicted with a learning disability, it has afforded me the opportunity to seek and achieve higher goals, set higher standards and aggressively climb hurdles that aren’t experienced by my peers. The fact that I must work harder to achieve the same as others, has truly influenced me to become a better academically and physically.
As with most players, I began playing baseball in my early elementary years and have continued to do so now approaching college age. Always wanting to accept new challenges, it wasn’t soon until I found myself accepting the most challenging position in baseball, catching. I’ve had many great successes that went well beyond playing in high school that included some of the more noteworthy league and club teams in New Jersey; Diamond Nation, Full Count Baseball, West Morris Baseball Academy, East Coast Baseball, Somerset Devils, The Titans Baseball Club of New Jersey, Zoned Baseball Academy, etc., and now the most influential of them all, Time to Sign. Playing for club teams has given me the exposure to extremely competitive baseball and has provided the spirit to compete on a higher level. I’ve learned the meaning of pride and having the ability to reach deep down inside especially in adverse situations learning never to give up. I’ve found this willingness to never give up and accept new challenges has influenced my close friends and teammates. I know these values, my baseball and academic values of integrity, will remain with me throughout my life and influence me as a person of dedication, commitment and unselfish sacrifice.
I’m looking to find an academic program that will allow me to follow in the footsteps of my father; a career in law enforcement. Through him, I’ve learned and observed what it takes to sacrifice oneself for the good of others. To lead and inspire others. I not only have the talent that it takes to compete on a college level, but the work ethic needed to succeed both on and off the field.
