Elizabeth Blank '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Elizabeth Blank – I am a junior volleyball player at New Providence High School in New Providence, NJ.  During the past season at the Conquest Volleyball Club based in Summit, NJ, I transitioned to the setter position to take advantage of my 5’10’’ height, good hands and strong court sense after playing middle during my high school season and opposite while playing club last year.  During my first year of playing volleyball (2018), I played at the Atlantic Valley Volleyball Club as an opposite hitter.  In my high school season (2019), I played as a middle and was the team’s co-captain during my first year on my school’s varsity team.  My hope is to use my athletic skills and love for the game to continue my development beyond high school. I always try to not only push my team to do their best as captain, but I always strive to push myself to do my best as well because I believe people learn the best from watching their peers. 

Academically, I am a 4.0 student with a 27 on the ACT (I will be retaking the ACT in June 2020).  I want to pursue an education major and one day become an elementary school teacher. My goal is to eventually join the Peace Corps to help kids all over the world to grow a passion for learning. I also have a passion for photography and currently run my school’s sports Instagram page where I photoshop and post twice a day with updates.

I played soccer and basketball my whole life but never truly loved it. Once I started playing volleyball, I fell in love with the sport instantly and I am not ready to leave it after high school.
