I would start off by saying that I love soccer. Ive been playing it since I was a kid and fell in love with the game. My parents come from Costa Rica where soccer is huge, so it was kind of impossible for me not to play. In Costa Rica, soccer is a lifestyle that I quickly adapted to. Whenever I would go to Costa Rica, I would play with the kids on the street and it would just be so much fun. That’s what is most important to me about soccer. Having fun. This game has brought me so much joy to my life. The peak is when I my team won the sectional title for our high school my sophomore. I learned so much that year about how to play and why I truly loved soccer. It taught me the beauty of soccer and why I played it in the first place. Losing in the state final also tought me how hard moments in soccer could be and that they don’t always go your way. My junior year was tougher since we didn’t win anything, but it tought me how to become a better leader for my teammates and what I have to do differently next year.
In school, I always try my best. My parents have told me since I was a kid that I have to get the best grades that I can. They would set up goals for me so I could reach them but as I grew older, I started setting those goals for myself and would surpass them. I work as hard as I can so I can get the grades that I want and deserve.
My family and friends mean everything to me. Without them, I wouldn’t have the mentality that I have today. My teammates help me on the field when I need it and my family and friends help me off of it. Soccer is what has made my life so great and without soccer, life wouldn’t be the same.
