Caleb Amantia '21 Recruiting Profile

I am a four year varsity baseball player, and a three year varsity starter at the catcher position.  I am a defensive minded catcher who has repeatedly been praised by coaches and teammates to be a very good receiver and framer.  I hit left handed and throw right handed.  I am a junior, and my sophomore year I was a three time high honor roll student in an IB World School that is rated a top school In New York State.  I as a person am very hard working and eager to learn and improve at the sport that has given me so much since age 4.

As a person, not just an athlete I am very hardworking, persistent, and a leader.  It is a very challenging task to play 3 sports in a tough IB World HS and then on top of that for them to all be varsity makes it even harder.  I have been able to do that in strides by maintaining an about 3.7 gpa and being a multi quarter High Honor Role student.  Im a very resilient person because after not originally making my varsity team my freshman year, I worked harder than I ever have before and made the team, this was a very proud moment in my life as playing varsity and then collegiate baseball was always a goal and dream for me.  Coaches and Teachers alike have called me a leader, and I can only attribute that to my ability to talk to people and motivate using those same words.  I would never ask someone to do something that I myself would not do, and because of that I always am pushing myself and others to be their best selfs.
