Bret Bock '16 Recruiting Profile

My collegiate goals are to win a national championship, hopefully at the University of Virginia. What makes me a good candidate for top level elite teams is that I am extremely familiar with exactly what it takes to become a professional athlete. My father, Joe, played professional football for 8-9 years in 5 different pro leagues (after graduating from Virginia) and has passed on his knowledge and work ethic to me. This is also what makes me different from other recruits in character, athletics and academics. My Dad is also a teacher and HUGE on the importance of education, has strongly imparted on me the honor system that the University of Virginia has and lives his life today and wants me to live mine as if we are under that type of honor code. He has taught me to never lie, cheat or steal and to earn everything I get in life on my own. My character has been shaped by his examples in his life and he has taught me 2 main things matter as a man, my word and principles. My character is one of my best attributes. I think my character would be an excellent addition to any top level elite program for these reasons..
