Hello Coaches,
My name is Nolan Dunn and I am currently a senior at The Harvey School in Katonah, New York. Baseball has always been a passion of mine. It all started when I was four years old playing T-ball and I haven't stopped since. Through playing baseball I have learned that I am the most hard working and determined person I know. Although quiet in the classroom, my passion and love for the game comes out loud on the field.
I have had to overcome a lot of obstacles to get to where I am today. It all started freshman year, getting cut from the freshman team. Looking back that may have been the best thing that happened to me. It pushed me to work harder than I have ever worked before. It taught me that nothing is handed to you; you have to work for every second you're on the field. All the hard work paid off as I would have been the starting first baseman for the varsity team my sophomore season. Unfortunately the season was cancelled due to Covid and the school I was attending closed permanently, but I continued to train hard for baseball. An adjective people would use to describe me would be persistent because I won’t quit until I get the job done!
My hard work and dedication to training paid off. As a new junior as the Harvey School, I was selected for one of the two spots open on the varsity baseball team. My opportunity to shine at the varsity level became a reality, despite the shortened season due to Covid. I played first base and had the second best batting average on the team. I am a good first baseman, but the best part of my game has to be my hitting. Whether it's just at home hanging out or playing ball I always tend to have a bat in my hand. What makes me such a lethal hitter is the fact that I hit for power to all three parts of the field.
I am looking to play ball for as long as I can at any level. Coaches, player chemistry and academics will play a vital role in where I play. I want a school that will give me coaches who care about their players both on and off the field. A school that is strong in its academics is also important. Location isn’t as big of a deal. Just give me a bat and I will play anywhere in the nation.
Hope to talk to you soon,
Nolan
