It doesn't matter what situation I am put in because I am alway going to be the hardest worker on the field and off the field. My team can be losing 10-0 in the first inning but you would never be able to tell by watching me play. I will always talk it up for my teammates if they make an error, I will always hustle for every ball no matter where it is, and I will always have the mentality that I want the next ball to be hit to me because I want to make the play. There will be errors from time to time, but nobody is perfect. Even if I make an error, I will always keep my head up and focus on the next pitch. My jersey will always be the dirtiest after each practice and game because I try to be the hardest worker on the field. If that means I need to dive for every ball that is hit near me, I will do it.
I have my been playing baseball ever since I was able to throw a ball and pick up a bat. Baseball has been a huge part of my life ever since I started to play and I can never get enough of it. I always think of myself as an underdog and it motivates me to push myself harder. In seventh grade, I tried out for the middle school baseball team and I was cut. I truly believed I should have made the team. It was very tough for me to deal with at that time because I have dedicated so much time to the game. I worked my tail off the following year and I made the team, batted fifth and led the team in hits.
My sophmore year on the JV team I batted clean-up, started every game at third base, and led the team in all major hitting categories, including rbis by double digits. In 10th grade, I was voted captain of the JV team. I voted for myself. My coach asked me why and I told him because I wanted to lead the team. As a junior, I am now starting on the Varsity team at my high school, and I am playing 3rd base, pitching, and playing outfield. My coach told me because of the strength of my bat he will play me anywhere to keep me on the field.
Francisco Lindor has been a role model for me since he started playing in the pros. Besides being one of the best players in the MLB at the moment, he always remains positive even if he makes an error, if his team loses a game, etc. You will always see Lindor with a smile on his face whenever you look at him because he loves to play the game of baseball. I try to incorporate his characteristics into what I bring to the game and my life everyday.
