Ryan Sawyer '22 Recruiting Profile

    Baseball is a huge part of my life. I’ve been playing since age four and I’ve loved every minute of it. I am currently a junior and I think I could be very valuable to a team at the collegiate level. I’m a good teammate, I’ve always gotten along with coaches, and I constantly work very hard to improve my skills. I pride myself on being coachable and wanting to learn more to improve. Whether I’m 0 for 4 or 4 for 4 at the plate, I'm in the dugout cheering on my teammates or doing anything else I can to help my team win.

    I’m apart of a military family which means we move a lot around the country. This fact has helped me in life as well as baseball. I’ve experienced many types of coaches, styles, and different cultures. Every time we move to a new location, I have always had to “reprove” myself to coaches and teammates which is an attribute that I think helps prepare me for college baseball.

    I’ve been playing travel baseball since the 6th grade (11 years old), was twice selected as a Little League All-Star, and I was a varsity starter for my high school team last year as an eighth grader (13 years old). I still have a lot to learn and experience throughout the next year of high school that will make me a more complete player and a better person. With all that in mind, it is a priority for me to get an education while also playing baseball as an added bonus. I’m open to all levels of college baseball and look forward to finding a school that can fulfill my goal of playing college baseball.
