I never found a single talent or interest that truly grabbed me until I discovered my love for running through gymnastics. I have been doing what I love for 4 years already and would love to continue in college. My collegiate goal is to compete in track and field throughout college, while working towards to be a conservation biologist. I aspire to better myself as an athlete but also as a student. I have always worked hard to reach where I am academically, but I have been working hard through a serious concussion for the past year and a half to maintain my 4.0 GPA. I was homeschooled for half a year, and maintained straight A's by staying up late to do all the work I was missing while recovering. This experience has affected me by being more focused and caring on where I want to go in life. This allowed me to see that hard work and determination does pay off. Also throughout injuries like a fractured ankle, concussion, and fractured spine, I was not allowed to compete in track and field. As I didn't want to lose the progress I made as an athlete, I was able to go to the gym to maintain my strength. The willpower I had to not let the injuries affect me both academically and athletically sets me from others, as most would let themselves fall behind in. The amount of commitment, discipline to follow a strict exercise and diet, the drive to improve every day, competitiveness, focus, and emotional maturity would make me a good candidate for a team.
