Jake Roseman '17 Recruiting Profile

My parents never said the words “Don’t play ball in the house.” I have played baseball as long as I can remember. Starting with the plastic soft touch Pittsburgh Pirates bat and ball that my dad got me before I could walk. Baseball has always been constant in my life, like my family. Even in the off-season, I am always in the gym and at the batting cages, working on my skills and strength. Like everyone else, I started playing T-ball when I was little. While other kids were pulling grass in the outfield or playing with their gloves, I remember that I was really into playing the game. It was in T-ball that I first realized my favorite position was middle infield.

This year, I am looking forward to my Senior Year on the Varsity Team at Charles D. Owen High School in Black Mountain, NC. In addition to my schoolwork and baseball, I am also an active part of my school's DECA Program.

I look forward to my college years being personal growth period. My goal is to explore a business marketing major that will position me well for a successful career. On the field, I plan to be a dynamic player and positive influence on the team. As I grow both physically and mentally throughout my college baseball career, I will strive to be an asset to the infield, batting lineup and pitching rotation. Most importantly, I will conduct myself with integrity and respect on and off the field, knowing that the way I carry myself reflects my family, my team, my coaches and the school I attend.
