Playing baseball has defined my life and family since the young age of four. A journey that started with just my immediate family now extends to what I consider an extended family across the east coast. My family grew each year as I progressed through each age level from recreation, through travel and now into high school ball. Participating on the USSSA Northeast Region’s All American Games expanded that family across the East Coast with teammates and memories that I will never forget.
My parents invested every opportunity to ensure I had the right coaching, the right equipment and the right experiences. I am a champion at both the “wins and the losses”, the “excitement and the frustration”. Being on stage, in almost every situation with many a game on the line, has molded my character and strengthened my baseball IQ. It came easy to me, game scenarios became reflex. Fundamentals became a way of life, both on and off the field. These strengths became swagger, and I learned the value of filling multiple roles on the roster as I learned to become one of the “best nine on the field”!
Everyone has talent, but what sets me apart from others is the relentless effort I place into practicing fundamentals. Rain, snow or shine, my work ethic has rewarded me with respect from my peers and parents. That effort has pushed my physical attributes to a new level – adding size, strength and speed to an already fundamentally solid baseball foundation. I am entering my junior year, preparing athletically and academically for the next level. I welcome more growth as I continue to expand my baseball “family” and knowledge of the game! That continued pursuit combined with mathematical strengths to enter a curriculum of business management, accounting, or finance.
Research favors those who focus on their strengths. For me, that is baseball and mathematics! I look forward to the future and the challenges it will bring. I look forward to a curriculum where I can leverage my mathematical abilities such as programs focused on business management, accounting, or finance. This is my journey, I will continue to the next level…..
