Matthew Wells '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello-My name is Matthew Alan Wells. I am currently a junior and attend Ashevile Christian Academy in Swannanoa, North Caorina. I was born on January 17, 2005 in Asheville, North Carolina. I am currently 6’ and 185 pounds. I am a right handed hitter and thower. My primary position is 1st base and my secondary is 3rd base. To put it simply, I am a ball player. I love the game of baseball and have played since the age of 5 years old. I have played with amazing teammates, as well have had wonderful coaches. I have learned so much from my coaches throughout the years. I know that I would not be the person I am now without my coaches, but I am fully aware I have much more to learn. When I am not playing baseball during the off season, I attend work outs with other teammates as well as strength training. I also enjoy participating in church and traveling with my parents and younger brother in our travel trailer. Both of my parents are very positive and have always supported me throughout my life. When it comes to college, I would like to major in Business Administration and possibly minor in Religion. When it comes to accomplishments, I have played varisty since my freshman year of high school, and lettered my sophomore year. I would of lettered my freshman year, but our season was cut short due to COVID. I started every game either at 1st or 3rd base, and I am currently hitting 3rd in the line up. Another major accomplishment is in education. I work hard at my studies, and currently for the first grading period, I have a weighted GPA of 4.20. I am a hard worker, and I would like assure of my future coaches that I do not give up. My coaches tell me that they love working with me and I am a very coachable player.
