My name is Ryan Starr and I would like to take some time to introduce myself. I am a part of the class of 2021 at Avon High School (Avon, OH). I played varsity baseball this year. This past year, I was blessed to win the "Pitcher of the Year" award. This award was given to the pitcher who gave our team the greatest opportunity to win the game. I was and will always be ready to give it everything I've got in order to better my teams chances to win. During the summer, I play for the T3 Rays and I am the top pitcher on the team. When I am not in season, I am still working to get better. I throw with my pitching coach during the winter and am constantly repeating my delivery when walking around the house. I'm also committed to lifting during the off-season with my high school and summer team.
Baseball is not the only thing I am driven to do well in. My education is also extremely important to me. I am self-motivated and will do anything it takes to maintain great grades. Although I am not 100 percent sure yet, I am very interested in a school with a great Pre-Med program. I am a very competitive person so I strive to always be better than the person next to me both in baseball and in school. Some of the other activities I do outside of school and baseball are Winter Sports Club and Leo Club (Leadership Club). I have also put many volunteer hours into serving dinners at a homeless shelter and helping out at Special Olympics events. I also volunteer for a program called Jacob's Ladder, which is a program that gets kids with special needs up and moving. All of these events I have participated in have helped me to become a strong leader on and off the field.
I plan to consider colleges that fit my academic needs before anything else. Baseball has been my favorite sport ever since I can remember and it would be great if I could find the perfect balance between both.
Thank you for taking your time to get to know me!
Ryan
