Hello. My name is Jackson Wright from Ontario, Canada. I am a Right Handed Pitcher, Left Handed Batter and Center Fielder. I quickly outgrew coach pitch ball and started playing baseball in Cambridge, ON, joining the 9U select team when I was 6 years old. At 7 years old, I joined the Cambridge Cubs 8U Tier 1/AAA baseball team (Ontario Baseball Association, OBA). In the fall of 2019, age 11, I was awarded the Fergie Jenkins Award for 13U Pitcher of the year by the OBA. The Cubs were lights-out in 2019, with a 23-1 record. Over 41 innings pitched in the regular season, I allowed just 9 earned runs and we went on to win the OBA Championship. In fall 2019, while pitching in the All Star semi-final with the Inter County Baseball Association Team, I pitched a complete game shutout. With the Cambridge Cubs through 14U, we won many league championships and away tournaments. In 2022, I joined the 15U ICBA Team for the Ontario Summer Games Tournament and made call-up appearances with the 16U Cubs team who had won the 13U National Championship in 2019. In 2022, I joined the Ontario Blue Jays (OBJs) of the Canadian Premier Baseball League (CPBL).
I am a multi-sport athlete, playing B level hockey in Ayr from 4U to 9U then moving to Cambridge Hawks Ontario AAA hockey from 10U to 14U. In 2022, I left the Hawks to focus on baseball development. I continue to play high school hockey in 2022/2023, with our team winning the AA school district championship. In 2023/2024 I was the Co-Captain of the junior boys volleyball team and I am playing high school hockey for the 2023/2024 season. I keep a part time job with Cambridge Minor Hockey as a timekeeper and occasionally work for D. L. Wright & Associates Inc. as an administrative assistant. These two jobs allow for flexibility around my education, training, workout and competition schedules.
I have maintained a 4.0 GPA. It is my desire to play baseball in the USA while furthering my education. While I am still refining my career interests, I enjoy math, science and physical education, leading me to look at possible careers in biological science or kinesiology/exercise physiology.
