Personal Statement

I have been passionate about the game of baseball for the past 8 years of my life. Baseball has given me the opportunity to build skills like teamwork and leadership. I am in love with this game and will do anything to pursue a career in the sport. When it comes to the game, coaches and teammates describe me as a game changer. I contribute so many factors to the game defensively, offensively, and by leadership. When there is no practice or game, I am in the weight room lifting, or outside running. I describe myself as a fierce competitor and would do anything for the win. Along with baseball I pride my self in my academics as I am continuously striving for the best grades possible. This game is my life and I am persistently working towards my goals and preparing for my future.

Training

  • Baseball related training
  • 8 years
  • I have been training baseball for the past 8 years of my life. As of now I am 16 years old and have been working out for 2 years. I work out 6 days a week for 1-2 hours. When I am not in the weight room, I have 2 practices a week, and also go once a week with a private trainer, and once a week renting a batting cage out. I consistently do baseball everyday whether doing tee work in the basement, or walking the dog and playing fetch with me hitting the ball with the bat. Overall I do everything baseball related for the love of the game everyday, have baseball related practice 4 times a week(baseball workout, team practices, individual practice) and work out 6 days a week.
  • Working out
  • 2 years
  • I have been working out for the past 2 years of my life. I go the the gym 6 days a week for 1-2 hours each day. I am in love with the gym as it is my second home. My gym schedule follows Monday: Chest and Triceps, Tuesday: Shoulders, Wednesday: Legs, Thursday: Back and Biceps, Friday: Cardio, Saturday: Core, stretching and any muscle that needs more work. Sunday: rest day. This is my usual workout plan for the week, but a big factor of this all is nutrition. When it comes to food, I prep all my foods and calculate exactly what I need to meet my goals.
  • Private baseball workouts
  • 1 year
  • These workouts are held at the PPA hit house (Peak performance athletics) once a week with a private baseball strength trainer. Travis Laiter and I work together on baseball workouts such as explosive training, balance and baseball stretches. Some of the workouts he has put together in my workout plan are T-spine rotations, 90/90 hip flexor, rotational slams, med ball OH throw, hop and stop ect.... I do this once a week to incorporate baseball workouts and for great stretches to release tension in my muscles.
  • Working out at school
  • 2 years
  • For the past 2 years, me and my baseball varsity teammates go up to our mezzanine in our high school to workout everyday for 1 hour and 15 minutes during lunch. Following lunch, I have a course called Personal fitness where I get 1 hour to work on stretching, yoga, cardio, lifting weights etc.... This all happens 5 days a week during school hours at CCVI, Guelph, Ontario, Canada.
