Personal Statement

I just finished play for a great summer/fall combined season of baseball with a regional club team. I competed in at least 40 games this summer and about 30 games this fall.   We had a highly competitive team who enjoyed spending time together working out as well as socializing and supporting each other.

I work hard and I love playing baseball. I play the full outfield and middle infield, and I can be found in multiple positions as a utility player.  I especially love playing center and short. I was called upon to pitch (RHP) this last season and summer as a relief and closing pitcher. This past year, I have been grinding in the weight room to get myself stronger. I gained 15 pounds of muscle from the start to the end of my junior year. I keep working to add more strength during senior year.  My hope is to play college baseball. I have a strong passion to play competitive baseball for many more years and want to help a team win championships and for myself to always get better as an athlete and student.

My main goal though is to get a good education in college. My parents and teachers have instilled this in me from early on.  I’m interested in business, engineering, government and history.  I like to make connections, think creatively, and try new approaches. After touring a number of colleges and talking to college students, faculty, and coaches, I'm really looking forward to the classes and approaches to learning that college can offer in ways that differ from those at the high school level.

I'm training every day, athletically and academically.  I am building on this training to always get better with my baseball skills and my approaches to my school work.
