My dream is to play college baseball at the highest level. Then, someday I am going to become a Prosthetist and take over my fathers successful prosthetics company. I’ve been working summers at South Coast Orthopedic Technologies for the past two years and plan on studying prosthetics in a college - graduate program at either Cal. State Dominguez Hills or Northwestern Medical Schools prosthetics programs.
For now my main focus and priority is becoming the best student athlete (baseball) player I can be Through relentless commitment, dedication and perseverance. I’ve been playing baseball year round for the past ten years and have been fortunate to have had professional coaching throughout . Brian Bright ( AAA Red Sox)- Kenny Ryan (Red Sox, Phillies) 6-12 yrs old- Jerry Perez (Penn State, (A) Phillies) 10-14 yrs old - hitting coach Alex Fernandes (14 year pro career (AAA )Pirates). Winter Hitting coach Ryan Westmoreland #1 prospect (Red Sox). Fielding private coach Chris Hess ( AAA) Yankees, URI/Red Sox coach. Current private hitting Coach Julian Jan ( 22 year pro and DR Winter Ball Coach) And this October will have the privilege to train with Bien Figueroa ( former St. Louis Cardinal , FSU All American) down in Florida . I realize it will take relentless work ethic with a “no days off” mentality year round to get to the level of play I want to achieve.
In my earlier years playing in LL and AAU my teams have won multiple State Championships and NE Championships. I got the opportunity to play SS for the State Champion Cumberland Americans in the LLWorld Series Regionals in Bristol Conn.
Two years ago I got the call up to play SS for Cumberland HS D1A . I made the most of my opportunity and by year end. 1st year Head Coach Cardoso told me “he didn’t know what my glove was all about” and that I should have been up earlier. He said I earned the starting SS going forward and that it’s mine to lose.
I‘m currently playing SS for the Ocean State Makos and training my tail off every day to get bigger, stronger and faster. I’m strength training with my Dad who was a former UMass / Boston football player and Strength and Conditioning Coach at Harvard University. and I just recently started sprint training with former National (JO) Sprinting Champion Peter Silvia. To get my speed where it needs to be. I’m 6’ 1 157lbs and plan on gaining at least 20 lbs of muscle by my senior year. My doctor told me I have 1 1/2 years of growing . He’s guessing 6’2 through his assessment/ evaluation of my growth plate. My father taught me you have to work and train harder than everyone else in order to be the best and that’s what I plan on doing.
This past year as a junior I started at SS and earned 1st team All Division and second team All State. I hit .447 on the season. We finished 3rd in RI D-1 just behind Hendricken.
If given the opportunity I Will be a great asset to your team. I strive to be the hardest working best teammate on the field. My team and coaches come first I come second. I do whatever it takes at all cost to help my team win the game. If one of my teammates make a mistake, an error or strikes out I’m the first one out of the dugout to pat them on the back. When I cross the white lines on that field I go into battle and every player on that field knows I have their backs and that I’ll leave everything I got out there.
Coach, Thank You in advance for your time and consideration.
