Ever since I could hold a bat, I’ve wanted to play softball. Softball and baseball run in my family's blood, and I wanted to carry on that tradition. Competitive, driven and dedicated are three words that best describe my personality. Softball has helped me develop as a leader and role model, which I use to benefit my community. At the age of 6, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, although it was a shock to my family and me, I never let it get in the way of the sport I love playing the most, softball. I use the leadership skills that I acquired from my coaches, and volunteer to be a leader in training at a yearly weeklong overnight summer camp for children with Type 1 Diabetes, which I have been attending since the age of 6 years old.
I was chosen for my middle school softball team as the captain, I believe for my work ethic on and off the field, my dedication to the sport, my ability to be a team player, and overall, just wanting success for my team. My ultimate goal is to play and be successful at the collegiate level.
