My step-father really pushed me to be who I am, and he taught me that hard work will beat out any measure of talent. I began playing baseball at the age of four, and haven't stopped since, and I attribute a lot of that to my father. This sport has taught me so much about myself-things I may never have found without playing-such as my hard work-ethic, discipline, optimism, and my want to soak up information. I have a deep passion for music, and I plan on studying an undergraduate degree in music education. The discipline and work-ethic I learned through sports is put into my musical practices as well, and vise verse. I was previously in a marching band, and unfortunately I had to sacrifice that in order to continue playing baseball, the sport I love so much, but that is just what I am willing to do. Although I did have to quit marching band, I still take away the abundance of teamwork and leadership skills I learned in my time, and I apply those to baseball. I love to lead by example and believe that that is the best way to lead a team. Anyone can talk, but only a select few can do what is needed, and I believe that is something I can bring to the table for your college program.
