Everyday of my life involves baseball. Having started playing at the age of 3, I have always loved the sport. Whether it was having my brother throw me balls that I could dive for, or watching every single Texas Rangers game, baseball has been a key part of my life. I believe this love for the game will help me as I continue in my high school career, and hopefully, at the next level.
I am a 5'11" 195 Lbs catcher from Austin, Texas. As a freshman, I played on both the varsity and junior varsity teams full time, as there is a rule that all freshman must play on junior varsity. Coming into the year I knew that I would catch some for both teams among playing other positions. After two weeks our pitching coach and the catching coach told me they really like me as a catcher. That worked for me as I really started to love the position.
I like catching because I feel that I have the control and the responsibility to make sure the rest of the team knows what our plan is. I also love being the extension of the coach on the field, and talking with pitchers and coaches to decide on what approach we are going to use to get hitters out.
I am looking for a school that is very solid academically. I am also open to all sorts of schools. My main goal is to work my hardest everyday on the field, in the cage, in the weight room, and most importantly in the classroom to put me in the best position to keep doing what I love.
